LinkedIn for Introverted Entrepreneurs

LinkedIn is the platform for entrepreneurs, full of unprecedented possibilities and opportunities. 

It works differently from Facebook, very different from Instagram.

And there is so much to gain.
 

Especially for you as an introvert!
 

Are you an introverted entrepreneur or introverted entrepreneurial professional? 

Introverted entrepreneurs usually don't like to sell, they prefer not to share selfies and other personal information too often. They often wonder: who is waiting for my story. This is why LinkedIn is the best platform for introverted entrepreneurs to build their network, get leads and then customers.

I too am an introvert. As I write this I can see the eyebrows of a number of people go up.

Listen: It doesn't mean I'm shy or not socially skilled. I learned a lot growing up 😉.  

​

Being introverted means that I need a lot (yes, a lot) of time alone to recharge my battery. Something that struck me even more during this Covid-19 period.

👉 In addition, prefer deeper conversations over small talk.

👉 I'd rather write than talk.

👉 Do I need time to think if you ask me something. 

👉 I find it quite difficult to come up with something 'on the spot'. I also hate brainstorming in a group. 

👉 I prefer 1:1 conversations and also pretend I'm talking to 1 person online .

I also don't like to sell myself and my own products. Yet I love being an entrepreneur and I know that marketing or selling products and services is a big part of success. In fact, the 'rumor' goes that you want to spend 40 to 60% of your time on sales & marketing to increase your success and to reach more people. For me that is no longer a rumor, this is the truth.  

​

And that's really what I want. Reach more people. 

So when I had published my book in June 2015 and wanted to bring it to women, I started looking into LinkedIn.  

​

What I found out is that LinkedIn can help me - and therefore you as an introverted entrepreneur. LinkedIn is simply the best platform for you as an introverted entrepreneur.

 

The relationships you build are often valuable, because people are on LinkedIn to build a valuable network. 

LinkedIn's rules of the game are clear . you seek business contacts and make business connections.

The messages are of value,  because everyone knows you post your photo shoots on Instagram and your apple pie recipe on Facebook.  Because of course it is still important to meet and get to know people in person. 

The frequency of messages are not necessarily daily  because nobody on LinkedIn wants to flood the other person with content unnecessarily.

As an introvert, you can use LinkedIn as a great tool to build your confidence in contacting strangers and strengthen existing connections.
You do this by being guided by 1 person: your ideal target group, target audience.
 

​
